Cesar Mejia

Engineer/Producer

Cesar Mejia is an L.A. based engineer and producer, he has worked with Grammy Award winning artist such as Herbie Hancock, Los Lobos, Brian Eno, Will.I.am of the Black Eye Peas and Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine to name a few. He is also Co-Owner of The Shelter Studios, in Boyle Heights CA. Besides engineering and running his own facility he is also a faculty member at Cal State Dominguez Hills where he teaches audio recording courses for the Digital Media Arts program. Cesar Mejia also consults and installs custom studio wiring for artist and companies such as Hurley Clothing, Herbie Hancock, Bill Withers and the Hanoi Console for Arts Vietnam.

Cesar was born and raisedin East Los Angeles, California. He has been surrounded by music his entire life having and has been influenced by many family members in which music became a way of life. He was musically trained as a child and developed a passion for music that he carried throughout his life. In college Cesar gravitated toward the technical side of music and received a B.A. in Digital Media Arts followed by a M.A. in Technology Based education from Cal State University Dominguez Hills.

Constantly working on projects of multiple magnitudes, he fully dedicates himself and applies the same enthusiasm to all his clients. Cesar has a unique approach of putting his clients at ease, allowing the artist to perform at their optimal. Cesar’s methods and skills have allowed him to maintain an ever growing list of clients.
