Mark Ruiz grew up throughout Los Angeles, finally settling in Boyle Heights in his early teens. As a youth, he listened to various genres of music and played guitar in Metal and Punk bands. Music has always been a big part of his life, especially when he entered the U.S. military. On deployments, Mark listened to music prior to missions to give him an edge to return safely. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Mark decided to pursue music as a career and lifestyle.
In 2009, Mark received a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media, with an emphasis in Audio Recording from California State University Dominguez Hills. Since then he has been recording bands and worked on multiple projects at various studios, to include Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller and Hurley Clothing Studios.
Passionate, intense, and efficient. This is what Mark encompasses. Now that music has become more about having a generic mainstream image, Mark focuses on the music, putting emphasis on tones and mix to create a sonic landscape only he knows how. Mark’s unique style of engineering helps bring out the artist’s vision in the music. No matter what style of music, whether it be folk or ear drum blasting Metalcore, Mark’s priority is to bring out the best performance within the artist and capture it.
